A ABRIGARSE EL CUELLO!!!

Curioseando en el blog luvingthemommyhood encontré un tutorial para hacer un foulard muy fácil, con la única diferencia que lleva unos botones en el extremo. Así que me acordé de esta tela de punto de algodón que como de costumbre llevaba dos años guardada, esperando a ser usada para algo, y resultó que era la tela perfecta para esto; ya que es muy calentita y elástica. Los únicos botones que tenía eran estos y me daba un poco de pena usarlos, porque son tan bonitos que nunca los quiero usar. Pero bueno ya los he descubierto en la web, se llaman sensations buttons así que me hecho un regalito de navidad y me he comprado unos cuanto más, que espero me lleguen esta semana.

Snooping on the blog luvingthemommyhood I found a tutorial to make a very easy scarf, with the only difference that has some buttons on the end. So I thought of this cotton knit, which as usual had been two years in storage, waiting to be used for something, and turned out it was the perfect fabric for this, as it is very warm and elastic. The only buttons I had were these, and I felt a little sorry to use them, because they are so beautiful I never want them to be used. Anyway I have already found them on the web, they are called sensations buttons so I made myself a Christmas gift and bought a few more, I hope I get this week.

ESTRELLAS DE PAPEL

Este año no he tenido mucho tiempo de adornar la casa de Navidad, se me han pasado los días volando y cuando me he dado cuenta todavía no había puesto nada en mi árbol. Tenía que ser algo rápido, y me acordé de las estrellas que hacíamos de pequeños, recortando. Ya no me acordaba de como se hacían, pero por supuesto en Internet encontré un tutorial de Jessica Jones, que podéis encontrar en su blog How about Orange . Es muy fácil de hacer para los niños y se lo pasaron genial inventando formas diferentes.



This year I haven´t had much time to decorate home for Christmas, the days have past very fast and when I realized it I didn´t have anything in my tree. Had to be quick, and I thought of the paper stars we use to make at home when we were kids. I didn´t remember how to make them, but of course on the internet I found a tutorial of Jessica Jones, that you can find in her blog How about Orange. It is very easy to do for children and they had a great time inventing different shapes.

BOINA CON FLOR

Quería hacer una boina de tamaño adulto, pero me salió demasiado pequeña, no consigo dar con las tallas de los gorros, siempre o demasiaso pequeños o demasiados grandes. El patrón  es de Tara de EASY, una chica de Alaska que hace cosas preciosas en crochet. Podeis comprar los patrones en su blog. Compré tres: el de la boina, otro de un gorro con forma de buho, y otro de un gorro de ganchillo con orejeras. Los patrones vienen en varias tallas, desde bebe, hasta adulto. No me atrevía a comprarlos porque las instrucciones están en inglés y no controlo las abreviaturas en este idioma, pero encontré esta traducción en Internet, y no tuve problemas. Lo malo es que de talla no me quedó bien, asi que otro gorro más para mi hija... por lo menos lo puedo aprovechar... La flor de fieltro le da el toque final. 

I wanted to make a hat adult size, but instead I got a  small one. I can never make the right size, always too big or too small. I bought the pattern at  EASY, which is a beautiful blog by Tara, from Alaska. She makes up very cute crochet stuff. I bought three patterns that came in different sizes, from new born to adult. At first I didn´t dare to buy them, because I wasn,t familiar whith the abbreviations in english, but I found this translation in Internet and it was easy to follow the instructions. But the size didn´t came up right, at least my daughter can wear it. The felt flower gives it the final touch.

COLLAR DE TELA Y FIELTRO

Este collar lo hice con lana, tela y fieltro, un poquito de cada cosa, el único problema es que como tiene poco peso, a veces se gira y no consigo llevarlo puesto en su sitio...

I made this necklace with some fabric, wool and felt, a little bit of everything, the only problem it has, is that it´s hard to keep it in place when you wear it, because it doesn´t weight much.

LIBROS CRAFTS

Este libro de arriba es de Kajsa Wikman, me encanta su estilo, podéis pasaros por su blog, y ver lo que hace. Además esta semana tenéis la oportunidad de participar en el sorteo de uno de sus libros.

LA MANTITA

Esta manta la ha hecho mi hija de ocho años, son trozos de fieltro que se van uniendo haciendo nudos. Es de Imaginarium, se la regalaron hace mucho tiempo pero como todavía no controlaba mucho lo de los nudos, se cansó y la dejó sin hacer. De repente el otro día se puso a hacerla, y no paró hasta que la acabó, estuvo dos días haciendo nudos, y cuando por fin la acabó se puso muy contenta. Esta claro que esto de hacer labores engancha.

 En Imaginarium ya no la venden pero teneis esta otra de abajo, que también está muy bien para que la hagan niños. Dice en su página web que fomenta el esfuerzo y refuerza su satisfacción personal, y es del todo cierto. Ha sido como un reto para ella. También teneis un gorro y bufanda que se hace con el mismo sistema.

The blanket above was made by my eight years old daughter.It´s made of pieces of felt that are joined together by knots. It´s from the shop Imaginarium and when she started making it, didn´t control much of the knots, so she got tired and left undone. Suddenly the other day she took it up, and didn´t stop until she finished it, she spent two days making knots, and when it  was finished she felt very happy.

You can´t find it in Imaginarium anymore, but there are other ones that are easy to make for kids. It´s said on its website that promotes its efforts and strengthens its personal satisfaction, and is all true. It's been a challenge for her. You also have a hat and scarf that is made with the same system.

MÁS GORROS

Este lo quería hacer de recién nacido, pero para variar creo que me salió demasiado grande.

This one I made it for a new born, bust as usually I think it came out too big.

Este otro, me inventé el patrón, no salió perfecto pero suficiente para mi, y para ser la primera vez. Le estoy haciendo un gatito para poner en un lado.

This other one, I´m very proud because it´s the first time I made up the pattern. It´s not perfect but OK for me. I´m making a little cat to place on the side.

 Y por último este de abajo, que me encanta , ya os puse una foto del libro japonés del que saque el patrón. Estoy deseando ponermelo, pero todavía no hace suficiente frio. El nudo va atrás en la nuca.

And the last one, the one below, I love it, I´ve already post a picture from de japanese book were I got the pattern. I can´t wait to wear it, but it´s not cold enough yet.

FLORES EN EL PELO

Quería hacer un detalle a mis sobrinas que fuera rápido, no tenía mucho tiempo, asi que me puse a recortar fieltro. Estas flores para el pelo son muy fáciles y rápidas de hacer, perfectas para un regalito que tengáis que hacer. La diadema la forré con tela de Kaffe Fasset. El patrón de la flor morada ya os lo puse en otra entrada, lo podéis encontrar aquí. Y para hacerlo realmente rápido, en vez de coserlas se pueden pegar con silicona caliente (he comprobado que es lo mejor para pegar fieltro). Los pegamentos siempre se me acaban despegando...

I wanted to make a present to my nieces and I didn´t have too much time, so I started to cut some felt. These hair flowers  are vey easy and fast to do, perfect for a gift. The headband is lined with Kaffe Fasset fabric. I´ve already post the purple flower pattern , you can find it here. And to make it really fast, instead of stitching they can be glued with hot glue (It´s the best to stick felt). Adhesives always end up taking off ...

MISTER KENZO

Telas de Kenzo

Uno de mis diseñadores favoritos tenía que ser como no japonés, aunque KENZO se retiró de la firma en 1999, dejando la dirección a Antonio Marras, la verdad es que sigue la misma linea que comenzó él. De Kenzo me gusta todo, los perfumes, la ropa, las telas... todo. La ropa de niños es preciosa. Los cojines uniendo telas diferentes me encantan. Abajo, perfumes que vienen en muñecas, y complementos para la mesa.

One of my favorite designers happened to be Japanese, although KENZO left the firm in 1999, leaving the managment to Antonio Marras, the truth is that it follows the same line that he started.  I like everything from Kenzo, perfumes, clothing, fabrics ... everything. Children's clothing is beautiful. I love the cushions  joining different materials. Below, perfumes  that came in dolls and some tableware.

BAUL DECOPATCH

Tengo un baúl en casa, que hizo mi marido hace por lo menos diez años, con restos de madera que tenía por ahí. Lleva años en el garaje, y con la invasión de juguetes que hay ultimamente en la habitación de mi hija, decidí que ya era hora de darle una utilidad. En vez de pintarlo, lo forre con la técnica del decopatch.

Se trata de pegar papeles con cola, sobre cualquier soporte liso, y luego aplicarle un barniz protector. Es muy fácil y rápido, y el resultado mucho más vistoso que cualquier pintura.

I have a trunk at home, that my husband made, at least ten years ago, with scraps of wood. It was sitting in the garage for years, and watching the invasion of toys that are lately in my daughter's room, I decided it was time to do something with it. Instead of painting it, I used the decopatch technique. You just have to glue some papers in any smooth surface, and then apply a protective varnish. It's easy and fast, and the result much more colorful than any painting.

BOLERO Y GORROS

 

 

Por fin acabé el gorro, que estuve haciendo en vacaciones. Quedó bonito, pero no me quedó tieso como salía en el libro, supongo que use un tipo de lana demasiado blanda. El bolero lo hice el año pasado, me llevó mucho tiempo, pero quedó precioso, lo saqué de este libro japones, y me encantó porque es multiusos, lo puedes usar tambien como chal, o incluso como top. !Es un invento!

 

At last, I finished the hat I've been doing on vacation. It was nice, but it didn´t turned out as stiff as appeared in the book, I guess I used a too soft wool. The "bolero" was done last year, I took me a long time, but the result was beautiful, I took it from this Japanese book, and I loved it because it is multipurpose, you can also use it as a shawl, or even as a top. It is an invention!

Knitting for Natural Clothes

        El gorro lo saqué de este otro libro, podeis ver imágenes aqui, tiene unos gorros muy bonitos.

I took the hat from this other book, you can see more pictures here, It has very nice hats.

Este de abajo es mi favorito, se teje bastante rápido y te lo puedes poner de con el pliegue delante o atrás, con lo cual parece que son dos gorros diferente.

This one below is my favourite, it´s very fast to knit and you can wear it in two diferent positions, so  it really makes two hats in one.

 

Así es como me quedó, el caso es que todavía no controlaba mucho lo de las equivalencias del tamaño de las agujas, y me quedó más grande de lo que yo quería. Creo que este año me haré otro igual de otro color.

This is how it turned out, the thing is that I didn´t know much about the needle sizes in Japan at that moment, so at the end it was bigger than I wanted. I think this year I will make another one but in a different color. 

Y este otro también me parece precioso,  lo tengo que hacer este año. Aunque no consigo enterarme muy bien de que tipo de punto hay que hacer. Creo que es punto inglés, tengo que investigar ... porque no entiendo muy bien los diagramas... Habrá que aprender japonés en los ratos libres...

And this other one, I think is also very nice, I must do it this year. Even though I don´t really understand what kind of knitting it´s used. I think it´s what in Spain is called english knitting, but I´m not sure. I should learn japanese in my spare time.

Y este lo hice hace mucho tiempo, fue muy fácil de hacer. Quedó gracioso, pero no es muy calentito que digamos, demasiados agujeros...

And this one, I made it long time ago, It was very easy to do. It´s fun but not very warm, too many holes...



BOLSA PARA LA MERIENDA

Esta bolsa para la merienda se ha hice a mi sobrina Patricia por su cumple. Ahora va a tener un hermanito y habrá que hacerle algo a él también. Tengo pendientes varios regalos para bebe, pero nunca consigo decidirme por cual voy a hacer y empezarlo. Espero que me venga pronto la inspiración...

This snack bag was made for my niece Patricia in her birthday.Now she will have a new little brother and I must do something for him too. I have several outstanding gifts for baby , but I can  never make up my mind and get started with one. I hope that inspiration will come soon ...
